Reflective Journal
Students will write a reflection each week on their Global2 blog. The reflection should include information about the activities you have participated in, discussion of how your team is progressing, reflections from Community Service and a discussion of your learning. Using the PMIQ framework will help you structure your reflections.
Students will also need to comment on at least one other student's reflective journal each week. Partner allocations are listed in a document on theBlog List page.

Focus Questions
Students will answer an assigned Focus Question on their blog in specified weeks. Homegroup teachers will assess all homework using the assessment rubric (at the top of this page). Assessment of Homework
Each week's reflective journal post will receive a comment from you homegroup teacher. You should respond to any comments made about your homework.
Focus Questions will be graded by your homegroup teacher using the Assessment Rubric. You should download and read the Assessment Rubric (at the top of this page). Your grades will be posted as comments below your Focus Question answer.
You should respond to any comments made on your journal by teachers or other students.
Students who fall behind with their homework will be required to attend a weekly homework "catch up" session during Friday lunchtimes. If a student is consistently behind, the homegroup teacher will contact home to help support student to catch up.

We have been exploring the idea of history and will have experienced a guided tour through spaces and places that carry spiritual and cultural significance for Melbourne's indigenous community.
Your homework task: Answer one of the following questions, using evidence from your week in Galileo: [min 50 words]
What kind of history has the most value:oral, written or pictorial?
Does history tell the truth, or, does it tell a story?Who's story?
In your answer you must include evidence from:

Using your goal setting sheet from our session on Tuesday, write a post or page listing your chosen learning goals for the term (you must choose 3 skills, 3 knowledge, 3 personal qualities).
Remember to choose goals that you, personally, think will be worthwhile, interesting or challenging for you.
What you need to write in the post:
1) Write a paragraph for each goal describing why you have chosen these goals. How will achieving this goal help you in school, family or social life? What will motivate you to reach this goal?
2) Choose one of your goals (one that is important to you) and add the following details:
break your goal down into smaller steps. What are some smaller sub-goals that you can aim to achieve along the way to reaching your goal?
what obstacles might stop you from achieving your goal? How will you know when you have achieved your goal?

Write a reflection about your experience of camp. You should include a review of the major events of each day, and moments that were interesting, special, challenging or surprising for you.
In your reflection you also need to respond to these questions:
If you could have done anything differently on camp, what would it be? Why?
What were the major challenges you faced during camp? What skills, knowledge or personal qualities did you need to use to overcome these challenges? (You might like to look back at your learning goals or the goal list to help you).
How did camp change your relationships with other students or teachers in Galileo? How will the experience of camp change the way the Galileo group operates in the final four weeks of term?
